YMCA Week Of Prayer 2023

November 2023

YMCA and YWCA worldwide have been joining together in prayer since 1904 and it is our privilege to continue the tradition during this year’s World YWCA and YMCA Week of Prayer and World Fellowship The theme of this year’s Week of Prayer is ‘Seeds to Blossoms: Cultivating Hope and Love in Solidarity.’

This year, the Week of Prayer takes place from 12-18 November 2023

YWCA and YMCA Presidents Mira Rizeq and Soheila Hayek have written the following in their introduction to the theme:

‘As we prepare to embark on our Week of Prayer and World Fellowship this year, under the theme, ‘Seeds to Blossoms,’ we invite you to reflect on the profound connection that binds us together as part of the global YWCA-YMCA movement and family. We are an assorted garden of individuals, each unique and requiing different care to thrive… while pushing together forward toward a brighter future right now and for generations to come. Just as in a garden, where we can where we can cultivate an array of plants, we encourage you to recognise the beaut and strength that comes from [our] diversity. Some may require more sunlight, while others flourish in the shade. Some need regular watering, while others thrive with occasional nurturing. Our difference can indeed be our strength; in recognising this, we honours the essened of intergenerational solidarity and shared leadership that can go beyond any potential barrier.’
