Helping young people find direction toward further education and employment.
STEP Programme
Based in the Cork Region, STEP aims to help young people aged between 17-25 reach their full potential and suits those:
- who have left school or college early
- who are unemployed
- who require space and support to re-evaluate their future
- referred by an agency for a specific educational or personal need
Young people are offered:
- Level 4 QQI certification
- Group and individual support
- Extra learning tutorials
- Personal development
- Project work and activities
- Preparation for further education or work
- Outreach and aftercare
Referrals
You can make a self referral directly to the YMCA Cork City and Cob. Referrals are also taken from Parents / Guardians, Intro, GP, Probation Services, Social Workers, Schools, Youth Service, Support Workers and Counsellors.

Application are taken throughout the year. Please get in touch to request or make an application.

The STEP Project is funded by the Cork Education and Training Board. STEP is an educational training program based in the YMCA Cork City and Cobh.
